non-Android

  • smaller: Miyoo Mini Plus ($53) / TrimUI Brick ($79)
    • even smaller: Miyoo Mini ($53)

The TrimUI Brick is newer with a nicer display, but is also quite expensive compared to the Miyoo Mini Plus.

  • standard: Anbernic RG 35XX+ ($63 $42) or RG 40XXV ($66 $59)

The RG 35XX+ is cheaper but has a smaller screen compared to the RG 40XXV.

  • clamshell: Anbernic RG 35XXSP ($64 $41) or RG 34XXSP ($66)
    • alternative: Miyoo Flip V2 ($89)

The RG 35XXSP is a bit chunkier and has a 4:3 aspect ratio screen. The RG 34XXSP is newer and more compact, similar to the Miyoo Flip, and has a 3:2 aspect ratio more reminiscent of the GBA SP. 3:2 displays would be better for playing GBA games while 4:3 ones are more versatile.

Note that the Miyoo Flip is more expensive than the Anbernic devices and many people have had hinge problems. The Anbernic handhelds are preferred because of this.

  • horizontal: Anbernic RG 35XXH ($67 $46)
  • GBA: Anbernic RG 34XX ($69 $59)
